Over 100 Meyerhoff Scholars Program  undergraduates, alumni, friends and family made their voices heard at the rainy March for Science in Washington, D.C. Students and alumni of the program founded at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) program — which supports undergraduates interested in pursuing doctoral degrees in STEM fields — galvanized their network. “The sciences should be open to people from all backgrounds,” says Erwin Cabrera, president of the Meyerhoff Alumni Advisory Board. “A diverse population of students, researchers, educators and professionals in STEM will only strengthen positive contributions and allow the community at large the flourish.”

As a personal note, I was so honored and humbled to be involved in the process. In addition to capturing some of the moments of the March itself, I also designed the t-shirt which the Meyerhoff Scholars Family proudly wore throughout the day.
